How It All Started

Hurricane Helene - September 27, 2024

On September 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene made landfall, devastating communities across Western North Carolina. Homes were destroyed, businesses shattered, and countless lives were turned upside down. The impact was immediate and heartbreaking, leaving many families with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

Hearing First-Hand Stories from Our Patients at Satin Med Spa - September 28, 2024

The very next day, we began hearing stories from our patients at Satin Med Spa, many of whom had family and friends affected by the hurricane. These personal accounts brought the reality of the disaster even closer to home. Hearing about the struggles and hardships faced by so many made us realize just how deeply our community had been impacted.

Feeling Helpless and Wanting to Do Something to Help - September 29, 2024

As we listened to these stories, a sense of helplessness began to set in. We couldn’t stand by while so many people were struggling to rebuild their lives. The question was: what could we do? We knew we had to find a way to contribute, to help those who had lost everything. This feeling of wanting to take action drove us to think of ways we could make a meaningful difference.

Having an Idea to Donate to Hurricane Victims - September 30, 2024

On September 30, the idea struck: what if we could use the resources and space we had at Satin Med Spa to collect and distribute clothing to those in need? It started as a simple thought—just a way to give back to the community in some small way. But as we shared the idea with others, it quickly gained momentum. People wanted to help, to donate, to volunteer.

Idea Grows into Reality - October 4, 2024

By October 4, this idea had transformed into something much bigger than we initially imagined. With the overwhelming support of our community, we launched Satin Hearts Together Store, a full clothing relief center where individuals and families affected by Hurricane Helene can come and shop for free. We’ve created a warm, inviting space where people can find quality clothing, feel appreciated, and take their first steps toward rebuilding their lives.
